Sailing & Kayaking in the Bay of Islands

Join us for a full day sailing and kayaking adventure through one of the world's best cruising grounds - the Bay of Islands. The boat  Freewind, a 46 ft sloop, purpose-built for charter, launched 1998. On board you will experience sailing at its best and in comfort. She features plenty of deck space to enjoy the sun and a spacious sheltered cockpit ; changing and storage room, clean toilet, boarding platform for easy access to kayaks and plenty of Kiwi hospitality, including gourmet coffee and tea. The trip : We'll take you for a sailing tour of the Bay, encountering the scenic beauty and marine wildlife on the way. Then drop anchor at a  sheltered anchorage on one of the islands. A 2-hour stop gives everyone plenty of time for :

• Kayaking - explore the coast at your own pace. Our kayaks are extremely popular with both novices and experienced kayakers. They are  stable, easy to paddle and lots of fun.

• Swimming and snorkeling ( gear supplied ) in the crystal-clear waters of the bay. 

• Scenic walks through native bush to amazing viewpoints with panoramic views of the Bay of Islands.

• Lunch - delicious picnic lunch supplied. Eat on the boat or take it with you to the beach. Vegetarians - let us know when booking.

• Or just relax on the beach

We encourage our guests to take the helm and experience the pleasures of steering the boat and being part of the crew.

What to bring : Swimwear or shorts for kayaking, towel, hat and sunscreen and plenty of film for your camera. Your hosts, Ron and Dalia Jones both have a lifetime association with the sea and invite you to join them in their favourite cruising grounds - The Bay of Islands.
